I have had some luck this week with slipping and confirming which model my Icon Adams is. Firstly my slipping arrangements have been $1700 up and back previously on a ex government slip which is now privately owned, the only other slip is a small working slip at one of the best marintime museums in Australia. I have recently had confirmation with the slip master that he seems we can slip Icon at the maritime slip as long as we can spread the 10 ton weight across the both cradles and the winch can pull the weight. Cost will be $350 for 4 days up and back ! So we will give her a go Easter long weekend.
Secondly i have had some trouble finding the model of Icon since the purchase 5 years ago. Turns out mine is Adams 40s shallow draft with optional centerplate which Icon only has only the encapsulated keel. And then there's the Adams 12 meter which is later version of the 40 and a bit more racer fin keel hull.
I will keep you posted how the slipping goes in April, I will be changing the antifoul from hempals to Abc3 . Shes been in the water for 24months now and getting a bit grubby.
