Kubota D722-E 18Hp motor as a replacement
I have the opportunity to purchase a marinised Kubota D722-E 18Hp motor with a genuine 131 hours on it quite cheaply. It has come off a Seawasp generator, the generator died prematurely and the motor has been sitting in a shed unused for quite a while (photo below). Do you think it would be worthwhile considering it as a replacement motor for my Carter 33?It currently has a Yanmar 3GM30 27hp that runs quite well but you never know with old motors. Looking at the calculations online, a boat like mine with a guesstimated waterline of 28 ft and and a displacement of 4.5t it should ideally have a 20 hp, so the Kubota is slightly undersized and the Yanmar a bit generous. Also what are the logistics of modifying mounts and matching with a new transmission?

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
