I think I have posted this before, the easiet way to avoid losing your watch should the strap fail is to pass a 200mm loop of elastic through one hole of one side of the strap, then put your wrist into the loop as you put your watch on. Should the strap break (On either side) then the strap and watch will be left dangling on the elastic loop.

The 255 has largely disappeared from retail stores in Australia. Deals can be had on ebay for around $400. Otherwise, I have heard of several people who have bought from AliExpress. The products are original, but you will not have an Australian warranty. From Ali after paying GST you are probably looking at $300.
The replacement model the 265 is widely available in Australia and can be had for around $550. However this watch is not currently approved. Which it should be as it is the same internally as the 965 which is approved. I might follow this up with the GPSTC advisory a panel to see if the 265 can get the tick of approval.

Meh said..
I can feel the watch buzzing during an alpha, is the buzzing telling me something useful, or just offering encouragement?

The watch will vibrate (buzz) when you get inside the 50m target.

start by reading and following the instructions, and if you get stuck ask for specific help

Surely reading the instructions is a last resort. Better to ask questions on SB first!
Here are the instructions, just in case anyone is interested.

I suppose I could think about adding these missing divisions (100m/250m/half-hour) . I could add an optional extra page that shows the session best for these three divisions. Similar to the existing optional Best 500m, Best 1km and 10km page. Is that what you want?
Mobzy, People all over the world manage to get my Datafields working. We live less than one hour apart. It shouldn't be that hard to get together one day and sort them out.
Regarding accuracy all apps should be the same. The important thing is that the watch is set up correctly and worn correctly. So no battery saving gps modes, Multiband must be turned on and no dodgy watch protectors that cover the GPS anttenna. The GPS Satellite signals have travelled 20,000 km to reach your tiny watch antenna, don't block them in the last 1cm!

That's odd, I have been using various Garmin watches since 2009 and have never had a button failure. I typically do 100 sessions a year all in salt water.

I believe the Garmin Instinct 3 if set up correctly would be capable of producing similar results to the approved Forerunner watches. However the GPSTC Datafields are not compatible with the Instinct 3.
If you have any plans of wanting to post to GPSTC in the future, I would recommend buying one of the approved Garmin watches.

On the home page of the device it displays the memory usage. I doubt it is full, one of my Minis has 750 files on it and the memory is showing 40%

Yes working now.
This is a big improvement to the old search which was never 100% reliable

On the new system I don't see the track download link.

Here are a few more suggestions.
1. A way of simply choosing a single day. rather than having to pick the start and then pick the end date the same, perhaps a little tick box, for this day only?

2. It would be great to see the returned results sorted by speed.

3. Would it be possible to highlight the ones that have been posted to GPSTC?

One thing I have always wanted is a way of seeing who was the fastest on a particular day at a particular location. It is painful in Team Challenge as you have to open each team separately to see if who sailed where.

The new site is looking really good.

Dylan just looking at the new search page.
If I search for "Coal Point" it works but when I put in a search radius I get the error message "Search failed. Is the API running?"
I am using Edge Browser.
