I used to run into Dave now and then at the Sugar School party house in South Mackay back in the late 70's / early 80's. He would rock up in his little green Corolla panel van with his wave gear on top. He and Garry Miller (RIP) were certainly pioneers of the sport in these parts.

Sad to hear of his passing. My condolences and best wishes to family and friends.

I have seen a few people say that they have had their watch bands on their Garmin watches break without warning, and hence their watch just descends to the bottom of the ocean never to be seen again.
I was in at my local Harvey Norman today getting a new watch under warranty (breakdown in GPS recording) and I asked the question as to whether the warranty would cover this circumstance. I may as well have asked what the square root is of 45678.
Has anyone who has lost a watch actually enquired as to the situation with warranty?

G'day speed legends,
I acquired one of these 7 months ago and after about 250 kms of GPS recording without issue, the results showing for my last two sessions don't show any detail, just the time on water. No track, no top speed etc. I took it back to Harvey Norman and they gave me A new watch under warranty. (Garmin's policy is to just give you a new watch, no questions asked)

I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar issues with the same watch.
