Those dyneema leashes are bad news for leash plugs in a big crash or waves, ripped mine out when I hit a turtle and got catapulted. They don't have enough give compared to a urethane leash.

I broke my leash once on a DW run. Every time a wave lifted the back of the board it foiled itself down the wave and away from me. No way I was ever going to catch it!! I was with a mate who had to chase it down and hold on to it all until I could drag down to him. No way I would go without a leash now. The footstrap attachment is better than no leash.
What type of leash were you using when the board failed?
I have seen a simple dyneema bungee leash rip the whole tail off a board in a high speed crash.

Yeah it was dyneema, i used to have a normal leash but it kept being tangled in the lines of the PW. but i'll switch it back fs because I'm not too confident about that back strap leash thing i made, Or i'll try to make something that snaps and releases a but more line before breaking the board
Thanks for the infos

Hi
Just broke the leash attachment part on my board. It made a nasty hole, and I dont think putting it (the leashattachment part) back in the repair would be enough to prevent another (bigger) tear in the board so i just repaired the hole in the board without the leash thing.
So now w i'll be parawinging without a leash.
Do some of you do that ? Wingfoiling its easy to bodydrag, in parawinging I'm not sure esp since i ride a very big foil (1100cm2)
Interested in Your Feeedbacks
Thanks

I've done both, learnt with straps, then when i was learning parawing I was strapless.
Strapless helped me "finish" the footswitchs, I had like 70% success with the straps, being strapless made it easier because it removed that moment where you fall because you want your foot in the strap and you end up knocking your toes on it. but otherwise the freedom is so nice. I thought I would be strapless forever because of the freedom, but I like to try and go fast sometimes and that was impossible to do without straps.
Also its easier woth straps to pump the board onto foil in light conditions, and easier to carve. Only downside to the straps imo is that you cant move really well your feet when downwinding.

Just bought a custom made parawing/wingfoil board. Advertised (on the board) as an 80 litres. I already have ? 80L board, and it floats when i'm standing on it. This one sinks to about knee-high so I think it might be more like a 60 litres. Is there a way to check ?
Thanks
