well I had Kujira 1095/178 and now F-one Eagle 990 with dw210.

Eagle 990 :
- More glide
- Better at pumping
- More speed
- Easier


Kujira 1095 :

- Better acceleration (feeling ?)
- Better turns
- A bit more reactive


Which one is the best ? I don't know :D Kujira 1095 is really better compared to 1210, Eagle got a better construction, nice glide and speed

F One Eagle, glide is insane, xxs fuse and carves nice and tight, 1090 is a beauty, but maybe a touch small for you, well worth giving one a go, super fast too!!

Be great if everyone posted their weight when referring to a specific foil as it makes the world of difference to the glide capabilities of a foil.

I'm 100kgs ish and use GF and my foot is on or behind the back of my mast with GT and RS series depending on board and conditions.

Another vote for the 1095. I know the Lift foils pretty well and I think the 1095 probably glides better than both the 120 and 170 ha and turns better than the 170 (maybe not as good as the 120).

I think the gofoil steps give surfers the best turning for a given wingspan. Allows you to have higher aspect glide with a comparatively easy turn considering the wingspan.

yes .. I heard that too of many folks going back to AR 6-7 "MA" fronts (of any makes) because it just so much more fun playing on typical near shore small swells .. most glides pretty well too

Exactly, I rarely have big clean swell. Often theres alot of tidal movement and the waves are weakish. If the mid aspect foil is a thin design I think this helps. My Gong Veloce T's AR 6.1 are LT 1350cm3 90cm 1.6cm thick and MT 1050cm3 78cm 1.4 thick. They have a similar AR to Fone Phantoms which are also great for carving and having fun on weaker waves. However the Veloce feels alot thinner and when I tested back to back to the Phantoms, myself and a very good wing coach concluded the veloce felt alot faster (the 1350 felt the same as the phantom 1080) and they both felt very similar feel on the wave. I'm sure there's other great mid aspect foils out there and I think Armstrong have realised a gap in their foil line up for a performance mid aspect foil. We don't all live next to Pumping point breaks with consistent ground swell ;)

I had a demo set of Core winging kit from WA SURF last month, came with an "old school" set of I reckon 4.5 AR kite SLC 1000 kite foil but when I had a go on some small ocean wind swells .. my god it was fun! .. it wasn't freaky fast glide like my ART799 but it was buckets more fun and so much easier heading back upwind against all the incoming messy swells too! esp. on toe side .. I uploaded a short crappy cropped clip to youtube to show what I mean .. so easy to trim down and turn on a small swell face (yes! a GoPro Max makes yr most exciting swell face looks meh ..) ...

I think what is missing from this conversation is the rider weight. If your light then why ride a MA when you can ride a HA with great glide pump and turn and good stall speed and still have a narrow enough wingspan.

The cabrinah h series was a good response to this approach with the 800 1000 1200 all have the same wingspan. Lighters riders get to enjoy the higher aspect of the 800 but heavier or less skilled riders pay a little efficiency and pump penalty with the 1000 and you get the picture for the 1200. Their assumption was about 90 cm wingspan is a narrow enough compromise.

I ride gofoil and at my weight I now have the choice of rs1000 and rs 850 which represent the two different approach's. The rs1000 is amazing at only 81cm wide but at the moment I can't see myself giving up the benefits of the rs850 so for now I will keep both and let's see if my perception changes again.

IAre most people in this thread relating everything to flat water or waves? It really makes quite a difference. I only wing in waves due to my short attention span but I have found the Axis ART's to be not all that pleasant in turbulent/wishy washy waves. I've recently tried the BCS that was the most accommodating of the wobbly water but the HPS seemed to be the best in betweener. Again, clarifying flat water vs waves will help steer people towards the info most relevant to them.....but a great thread!

The tittle suggested gliding and turning on runners so my comments are about riding waves.

I really love the Free 1000 as my all round foil on the 60 fuse & 82 TE mast it turns real good and is pretty fast.

The Free 800 is also very good but at 92kg needs to be quite windy. They don't glide as well as true ha foils like Eagle or Armstrong 925 but turn better and don't drop out in real choppy conditions. The Carve turns real good but needs more powerful waves. Here's me on the Free 1000 the other day in 10-18 mph on 5m Slick sls

I've also really enjoyed the Aero Free 1000.... it has become a daily driver for me (85kg, strongish winds usually 3.5 wing 60l board) Coming from SAB W1000 (AR 10), the Free 1000 has more low speed power, not as slippery, but still has pretty good glide and speed. The turns, especially in smaller winds well for me are what make it shine... I can carve and load up in turns and pump by s-turning instead of the normal up down pump. Feels closer to the SAB W940.

I used the Fanatic Aero Free 1000 for a Maliko downwinder when I was in Maui, and it worked very well.
