Can anyone recommend some good sites or YouTube Channels for an absolute beginner. I'm going to be learning somewhere where lessons aren't available and would like to get a decent sense of what I am meant to be doing before getting on the water.
Thanks!
I think a lot of the big companies have a version of this. If you can get video of yourself, there is no better option than Coach Casey Club. He has video's to coach through each step along the way and then has weekly calls where can join on zoom and he will review your footage live. It's not free though. Here are some free options. Starting with my buddy's YouTube that really helped me when learning. Then some brand options.
Alan Cadiz on patreon... super afforordable to sign up for 1-2 months and watch all his content. Just cancel and re-join when you need another fix. I think it's really good for learner and intermediates.
Duotone Wing Academy, also has a free app. Pretty clear bite size pieces of advice for each step of getting up, riding etc all the way through to advanced tricks.
Has videos and then a breakdown of each step.
I found the wing foil tutorials on this channel really helpful: www.youtube.com/@kitesurfcollege . He has beginner skills covered in earlier videos.
+1 on Coach Casey Club...great resource and great FB community too.
But video is really the tool that makes it powerful...send in a vid and you can hop on a weekly video chat and he will go over it, slow it down, analyze what is going on and give feedback, drawing on the screen and all...go back on the water, rinse and repeat...
