anyone here dock starting and pump foiling, and could share their knowledge on mast lengths, please? Mostly people say that 70-75cm mast is optimal, but why a 83cm mast would be sub-optimal, does a bit longer mast affect negatively to pumping dynamics?

As long as you put your wing very close to the water surface it will be as good as shorter ones, but you will be high above water.
I use 84cm mast for rock starts, gives me some extra time before hitting the water on launch. I just ride it really high for efficiency
