Kites we talk about projected area is this also relevant to windwings?

Hi Warwick,

In kiting, the "C" shape of the wings means a huge difference between surface area as compared to Projected (shadow) area. In foils and wings the surface area is almost the same as the projected area. Some earlier anhedral wings may have a slightly different ratio, but in general, it's not really relevant in wing foiing.
