I've used years ago and they failed after a big jump. I'm sure if no jumping they will hold up fine. Make sure you clean/prep the board properly.
If you do use them and the adhesive fails (because you didn't clean the board well enough), you can remove the adhesive and JB Weld the insert on to the board. Removing the adhesive sucks - but I've never had a problem after "JB Weld"ing an insert on.
As per all the other threads about them - not a fan of once you see how easy it is to pull laminate away from foam it's a no-brainer to put real inserts in. and no that's not self- interest, I see all the fails. but depends on the board, you'll get away with it on some on them

Hey Mark. I added inserts to a board but a total pad replacement was part of the project. Are you able to surgically remove the pad in the insert area and replace successfully? Any tips and tricks you'd be willing to share?
Yes but it isn't fun. Lots of scalpel work underneath. Of course some are just so thin it's very hard to not damage the pad. So that's a good soak with turpentine - IF you are very sure there no damage as you don't want melt the core. some folks use heat but that only works on the 3M self adhesive pads. Some, like Sunova for example, use good contact adhesive (the yellow stinky stuff in a tin you use for kitchen bench tops etc) which is great but heat won't affect it. Thus, if it's an unknown it's careful blade work to avoid the issues that solvents or heat may cause.
Some brands are so damn fragile there will be unseen holes or cracks so I avoid solvents most of the time.

True. But... my 2024 Cabrinha Swift has no inserts. I love the board. To sell it and buy the new model with inserts costs me $500. Or $10 worth of materials and an afternoon to modify the current one. What could possibly go wrong?
