I have the Matador 5M and the more I use it, the more I love it, especially in the surf. Has anyone used the 6M yet and can give some feedback.

Do yourself a favour and demo a good wing like Armstrong, Duotone or ENSIS. The Naish 5m LT is a very disappointing wing. Other people tried mine, and all came back with the same negative feedback.

I think it is very debatable and personal what a good wing is.I tried a lot of wings and Ensis Score for example is very low on that list. I have 2 Duotone Slicks, tried the Dlab and all good wings but prefer the lighter less cambered feeling Smik and Slingshot V4 and the new Matador LT 6m and Naish MK4 are really different from there earlier wings.

Besides that: a lot of wings that felt okay or good in a smaller size like 4 or 5 lost there magic in the bigger sizes (DT-Slick for example).

I have the new Matador LT in the 6m size and I love it.. It's my most used wing..

I also have a 5m Matador that's not an LT version and I like the LT's more but the normal Matador handles being overpowered better.

Was out my F One Strike CWC 6.0m today, incredible wing and compact wingspan makes it feel like a 5 with the power of a 6. If your near the Sydney Northern Beaches come and give it a go

Actually I've tried most of the wings mentioned above, except the DLab. I have the FOne 6 CWC and it shape and power is awesome. I am in no way a fan of the handles for transitions and jumping. Of course you can do it, but when you go back to a stiffer handle or mini-bar you just have to laugh at the amount of play. Also last month, one of the mini-strut valves blew out. It's just a reality w (4) extra valves, but the concept does work. Trust me, I agree w the above that we are still all part of the great experiment, every wing has pro's and con's.
I have 3 brands of wings in my current quiver. But for waves, the Matador LT clicks the boxes for power, flagging, 3 great stiff long handles, transitions and upwind. It would not be my choice for a course race or someone looking for a high end wing. Hope I was objective enough. ;)

I'll weigh it for you once I get home..

I agree about the Fone wing after swapping with a friend one day.. It's great.. light.. powerful and feels balanced.. but I hated the flimsy handles.. but I guess that come down to what you're used to.. I also struggled a bit flipping the Fone wing over in the water when it landed upside down.. Maybe that's just a slightly different technique thing.

My bathroom scales would not weigh the wing by itself but doing a stand on weight and then a stand on with wing weighed the 6m Matador LT at 2.8 kgs

Can that be right?.. I did it twice and got the same.

I have an 5M LT and agree at first I was not a fan however the more I use it has become my favourite as I only ride waves. Will be picking up a 4M and probably a 6M this week depending if I can sell my slick 4.5 and 6 to fund both LTs. I have a F-1 CWC 8m that is amazing handles are okay, gets me out in 8-12knts on a 95l board and 1550 foil i'm 100kgs no way would I be out there on a 6M

What is the wind upper limit of the Matador LT 6M? I'm worried it will be overpowered quickly. I have a Matador 5M and it already has a lot of power.

Actually looking at that video.. what's the low end? It looked like 8 knots of wind at most...

I'm still in search of an affordable powerful low wind wing. I tried the 6m CWC which I was less than impressed by. Those handles are terrible for me. I know loads of people love the strike but it's not for me. I'm on Cabrinha Mantis 3,4,5 which are great when powered up. I want a low end grunt machine for use in waves, and LT may for the bill
Does anyone know the wingspan?

Hi DJ
can you tell the wing span of the matador LT 6 M ?
I'm 173 cm so I don't want a big span wing
Thanks

I'm 183cm and find the 6m ok.
I used it today but as soon as it gets in upper range I don't like it. I would not buy another one, I think there are better wings that have all round performance. I tried the Duotone unit 2022 and it felt a much more comfortable wing to use.
Things I don't like on the 6m, back hands really easy, back handle to far away. Handles to thick. just my thoughts on it.

Hi DJ
I am mooved by your good will, appreciate the effort but the measure should be taken when inflated....
so next time you are going to use it - if you can measure again :-)

Feeding leash through handle reduces it flipping upside down.
