I've got my Axis Short fuse for my 1050HPS and my Ultrashort fuse for my 999ART and 830 HPS, I'm under the impression the longer fuse may give me a bit of a boost/leverage for pumping on foil when the winds are light.
Do most people have multiple fuse sizes or do folks just stay with the shortest fuse they can all the time to optimize turning?

I'm on Armstrong, but really find the 50cm fuse (their shortest) vs the 60cm to be a big upgrade in responsiveness/sensitivity. Pumping feels higher cadence but it's not an issue. I do enjoy the 60 fuse for really small foils sometimes to settle them down a little, but usually I can't be bothered to make the switch. I have ridden the ART 999 on a silly short fuse and liked it much better than the longer Axis fuses. Really livened the feel up and changed my mind about the 999 (initially thought it was a bit "meh").

I am the same, switched to the 50 fuse and never looked back. Makes all the foils feel lively and responsive.
Shorter fuse is like shortening the rail line on your surfboard. Tighter turning and more responsive. Depends on the conditions and what you are looking to achieve. Want a more chill ride, go for the longer. Ready to rip? grab the short one. The pitch sensitivity of the shorter fuse is not an issue after you get a few sessions.
I think weight pays a big role as well. If you are carrying a big frame, 10cms of forward weight shift for a 100kg rider is a lot more substantial compared to a 65kg rider (me) shifting the same distance. Because of that, I've heard some larger riders really getting bucked around when dialing in the shorter fuse.
that is a great question! I do think I love shorter fuse to a certain extend, it provides more liveliness and shorter radius and more fun. BUT, i wonder if it's like other sport I do and put video on me. When I filmed and tested different boards, when I look at the footage, I seem to wave ride, do better line, better surfing/windsurfing with the board I wasn't feeling the more fun to ride......so It's probably the same for foiling.
