I ride Armstrong gear. As far as I know, no other manufacturers foils will fit the Armstrong mast. Assuming that's true, are there any manufacturers making a standard mount?

The new one is excellent by all reports. Hard to get though.

The new surf mast is hard to get. The wind mast should be available.
I had the v1 and the universal interface is very clean and works as advertised. The v1 was thicker and draggier than the more modern masts, but it was incredibly stiff. The thickness and drag have been addressed in the evolution Cedrus masts (while maintaining the stiffness) and while I haven't tried it myself, some very discerning users have told me it's an incredible setup.

if you want a universal setup, cedrus is definitely the one to get and should last for many years.

I have the V1 and I'm quite happy with it. You still need a foil-specific fuselage.

The industry could really use open standards for foil wing mounting. Standards hold you back when the the sport is evolving fast, but I think we're now at a stage where we could have some.

Kyle at Project Cedrus seems like the real deal, and is super dedicated to making great gear and providing good support.

I've got a new surf mast on order, but picked up an OG Aluminum mast to try different foils w/o the huge investment...lots of folks seem to be happy with that route (I don't have the experience to comment on drag)...funny thing is my Lift Cedrus connector works better than the Lift mast I had (no need for a mallet), and definitely stiffer.

Konrad's Freak foils is another interesting option, I like what they're trying to do with compatibility across as many foils as possible. - www.konradboarding.com/foils.

I have a Project Cedrus Evolution (V2) Surf 80 inch. I've been on it a few months now. Love it. I use it for Winging in surf/bumps and prone surf. First look- the build quality is clean and meticulous. But what I care about is what everyone is chasing in a mast... super stiff, very slippery, fast connected feel. Being 95KG stiffness is a big deal, I've had issues with noodlie masts in the past. The difference in feel wasn't subtle, but to the point there was an immediate, noticable gain in glide, responsiveness. I'm on Axis gear but have switched brands in the past- and am stoked at the bonus of being able do that again, to be future proof. I've been flirting with the idea of giving a Code foil a go. The adaptors/mounts have been revised from the V1 and are rock solid with rods that extend into the mast. They already have adaptation for most brands out there including fuses for Armstrong and GoFoil. Not having deep pockets, it's a sketchy thing buying expensive gear before you try, but after my first session I was immediately releived, stoked with the purchase.

This is great news! I can't wait to try one. I was in touch with Kyle @ Cedrus today. He said they are currently in a pause on sales. I got on the mailing list to pull the trigger once they are selling again.
