I am leaning towards the 1450HA since it works with S270 too and maybe I can use it with a future dw board?

What do you more experienced Sonar riders think? Thanks!

Edit: with its 120cm span.. is the 1450HA a similar wing like e.g Gong Sirus L/XL?

For low end the SF1230 is the best choice and it wil be much more fun and better turning!

I am curious if SF1080 can replace my MA 1350 for low wind performance. I think i don't need SF 1230 for my weight. Low wind for me is 8kts to 10kts with 5.5 wing and standard board, north seek. I am not going to this 7plus m wings with downwind boards.

I've been using the SF1080 exclusively lately for low wind. Use the 930SF and HA's for higher wind. It really is so easy to get up on and the stall speed is very low. It's good up to waist to rib high waves for my 75 kgs and it's carving is spot on. Pumps great too. We have a wind meter close to one of our spots and I'd say w a 6M I'm up around 13-14 mph pretty easy. I know the 1230SF would match it but the 1080 would be close but w more speed and pump. Hope that helps.

Yes, if a standard box with 2 notches, they are compatable but a bit of a hassle fiddling with the t-nuts each time you mount the foil. Trick is to buy locking t-nuts and leave them locked in the board when you have tuned them in the right place for your foil. You can get GrabNutz locally or "hydrofoil mounting T Nuts" on ebay if you are happy to wait a few weeks. If ebay, you need to to get the M6 ones with two holes - they have M8 holes for your foil mount and the other holes are M6. You need M6 SS "coarse thread" grub screws for locking them. In my case, I needed some 16mm M6 grub screws because there was a bigger gap to the base of the box in the front bolts.

Had a first go today with the S208 (instead S270) paired with the HA1050 .. and I just had to post this on my IG!

I was expecting a harder step in terms of control going from the s270 to s208. Instead it just invited me to push harder, turn harder. Immediately 5kph faster.

My daily driver is the HA850/178/60/85 from 12-40+ knts, I'll rarely take the HA650 out as unless it's double overhead, the 850 keeps up with the speed of swells. I will also ride the SF930/215/60/85 if the swell is too slow for the HA850.

Not as fast as the HA, but close, and much much faster than then SF
Smaller radius turns than both HA and SF, no locked in feeling. You can start a turn, break out of the arc at any time and turn the opposite direction. Easy-peasy

Pumps much more efficiently than the SF, similar to the HA.
Great glide, low stall speed.

I'd trade my HA850 for the MA850v2 any day.
Magic foil.

Do you think we can expect more sizes of the MA V2in between 850-1850?

No idea if other sizes in between will be released, but the 850 is all you need ;)

I ride both the s270 and the s210 for my MA1050. Both work well, but off course the 210 feels snappier and more responsive and goes faster. It depends on the conditions, if the wind picks up I prefer the 210.

Yeup. Less chance of breaching. No drawbacks that I've noticed... but I don't surf shallow breaks.

Ah no man! the last thing I needed to hear was another magic foil from North :-) Any idea when the SF680 will be out? I'm gonna stall on a wing upgrade until I hear reviews on that bad boy.

I agree 100% with this post. I'm over 90 kilos. Can ride the 1080 with a 7mt in marginal 12 knots... But have also recently had a blast on it in waist high Atlantic waves mega powered on the 4.2mt mode in 22 knots no problem.. Never over foils.. Of course it's a bit draggy at that point.. I normally switch to the 930 as soon as it's 16 knots constant... But they both pump and glide soooo well for being such carvy foils... So well behaved dropping into fairly vertical and powerful sections, jibing through bumpy Whitewater, wrapped up in seaweed at full speed.. Almost NEVER ventilate and crash with these foils... (always with the 215 tail.. Sometimes shimmed 1/2 degree but mostly stock)

Can't wait to get my hands on the 840??
