You don't need them, it's to keep the ring in place.

Hi FerK,

you do not need the washer for the carbon fuselage. The reason why they are on the screws is for the aluminum fuselage so you do not scratch the anodizing off with the screw head every time you fasten them.
Since you have the carbon fuselage that is not a problem for you.

different mast screws c600 to c700. don't ask me for which year. my last year bought c700 has a screw head like the fronwing mount, the older c600 is smaller but higher.

Alloy

You will have the AK alloy mast. It is fully compatible to any of the current wings, stabilizers or fuselages. Nothing has changed on the interchangeable parts. The geomerty of the GeoLock, front wing to fuselage connection and stabilizer to fuselage connection is unchanged since we launched the Sonar Foil System back in 2019.

I'm 70kg and can get on foil/stay on foil easily and complete most of my gybes. I'm working on consistently switching feet without touching down and will start trying tacks and small waves next as I'm feeling much more comfortable recently. I ride mostly in 12-20 kts but sometimes more and have a 4.2, 5, and 7m wings.

My goal for switching foils is reduced drag/more glide so I can mess around without needing to be powered constantly. Also looking for a little more playfullness and ability to start pumping and trying small waves as I progress, while not getting something too advanced for my skill level or that doesn't work in light air.

I think the MAv2 is what I'm looking for and am looking for advice on size, but am open to any other suggestions. I was thinking the 1200 but do see that's from the half of the range for more experienced riders and is a big jump from 1850 so maybe should go 1500? Then again some people say going straight to the 1050 is easy.

Is there one foil in the MAv2 range that seems like a good fit or anything else you would suggest? While I'd prefer one foil if a two foil quiver would perfectly fit my use I'm open to that too.

the new DW foils are on the page. but sadly without any specs. the biggest one is 1400, if this is the wingspan i would be really interested how this is compared to the HA1450. and how it compared to Sabfoil 1550 and the bigger one 1750, and also from gong. As i'm looking for a frontwing for paddle ups :)

Ended up getting the 1200 MAv2 and just had my first session on it. Rode the old foil first to compare but it was a very gusty day(10-35kts) so not the best for and AB comparison.

The 1200 seems to have very similar take off and stall speeds to the 1850R, only thing is that when it does stall it's a little more sudden. After getting up the 1200 is instantly more pleasant because of the reduced drag, you feel the reduced pressure in your hands and arms. Turning is easier, much more playful. Definitely had more glide but honestly was not as dramatic a difference as I expected. This could be down to conditions though, interesting to see how it feels on a more consistent day.

I did also buy a s210 but did not try it yet as I wanted to change one thing at a time. Next session I'll try the 270 and 210 back to back.

Very early but I'm happy with the purchase. I'll probably play with this for a few months then think about adding an 850, using this in lighter wind.

Keep us posted on the stab! I'm debating getting either a 210 or 208 for the 1200 as well. Curious to hear if anyone else has some valuable input on this matter!

Seeiking quick advice. About to get the SF680 front. in terms of stab would you recommend S185 or S178.
the s215 was ok on the sf930/1080 although v slow. Hence many times I paired the SF930 with the S208 stab.

Pairing the 208 w the SF930 is my go to set up. I've had a few sessions on the SF680 now w the 208, 215 and S185. First off, at least for an Average Joe like me, the SF680 was more than anything. a turning monster. It took me about 15-20 mins to get used to the wonderful squirrelly feeling. You'll want to move your feet more to the centerline than w the SF930. I also pushed it to some speeds that where def significantly faster than the 930. On the waves, the only limitations were ME. ;) Its stall speed is pretty incredible for such a small foil. In the end, when I did some changing out of stabs,
215 - came up quicker, but slower, still fun
208 - came up a little slower, but speed def went up and I like the carving better
S185 - (which is North's recommendation). Carving was insane. Speed was as fast as the S208. good stall speed about even w 208, but more than anything it was as nervous and loose as you'd ever want a foil. I also took it out in the a Bay one day, 12-15 knots w gust to 17. I was on the 1450HA w the 6.8 Mode Pro doing some DW chop runs and thought why not, let's put the 680 on for fun. With the 6.8 it came up pretty easy, though I had to throw the 6.8 around to keep up w the 680 turning radius. I don't have the 178, but I will say the 185 was faster than I thought it would be and more responsive than I could hope for. Hope that helps.

I concur w the above, the 930SF is my 75% Go-Too. I'm 80 kg's and it's stall speed, ease to get up and FUN factor is North's Gold Standard. Chest high to below waves, DWing w a little bump or jumping and freestyle, this thing is an ATV, I pair it w the 208Stab and only use the surf stab if it looks like a pumping day.
On another note, first day on the 680SF yesterday, powered up on a 5M Nova, chest to shoulder high waves. I was pleasantly surprised how easily it came up. Stall speed also blew my mind. The carve is crazy. Passive speed without throttling down let me do anything I was capable of on a wave w confidence. I was apprehensive, but the 830SF wasn't available yet so I went for it. Only negative is once I was comfortable I tried to launch a few jumps by putting the peddle down, the 208 Stab was a def mismatch, the stab started exerting it's will. ;) Waiting on the matching stab here Stateside to see the foils full potential.

Same here. Craving the comparison. I'm at a point (In Mauritius) where in need of either a ma700 or the SF680 for use in stronger winds above 25 knots plus (turbulent wind blown chop AND for riding swell above chest height. (Only budgeting for one foil just need to pick the right one). Already use Ma850v2 with S178 (a fantastic combo for me at 65kg in 15knots breeze and above). Have a number of other stabs wings (I.e. SF930/215, Ma1050v1, HA 550,750,1050. stabs 178/208/210/215/270). Love everything about the Ma850v2 just need to pick the right next for riding decent size swell in stiffer breezes (that keep up with faster moving swell lines but still have great turning, control, stall speed . outright fastest flat water speed runs is not a priority although still need decent speed to move around and with the swell/wave while handling the turbulent choppy water sea states). I haven't pulled pressed the button to buy the SF680 yet but I've been close several times North have been teasing us with these new DW foils the last couple of months so I'm kind of stalling to hear more feedback on them. I've seen the SF680 in action on insta with a couple of north riders and it does look sweet, hence my near buy events! I'm going commit to something come end of the summer before the autumn storms kick in.
