83kg , wing mainly on fresh water and seem to be using my 6.2m way more than my 5m . Current board is 5ft 8 by 30 inches and 120L . Have to say I love it . What would I gain by going down to their 100L , 5ft 5 by 28 inch board over the one I have and would I actually lose more than I gain ? Don't want to swap for smaller then regret it if I lose light wind early foiling ability . Cheers

In my experience going from a 95l, 85l, 75l, to now 69l (at 75kg riding in salt water), the most significant performance benefit comes from riding shorter length. Shorter boards generally will feel more responsive for turning and pumping. Since you're riding in fresh water, my hunch is that you would need a little more volume than someone who just rides in the ocean. There are a couple guys around my local spot who are riding boards around 4'6" to 4'10" that have volumes in the range of 80l-90l because they kept some width.

My current board is 4'8", I've ridden as small as 4'6" but found the extra 2" made just enough difference in the nose to tail balance when it's rough and I'm trying to get going.

Go to an 80ish L board. With only a little practice you'll be up in the lightest of winds. Difference will be huge.

If there's enough wind I'd rather be on my 34L prone any day of the week marginal it's a pain in the ass.
