Hello brains trust. I have added an ART 899 and 1099 to my quiver in the last 12 months. Wondering what the best stabiliser pairing is the the ART series. I find them fast, but really twitchy relative to my other set ups. Love to get them feeling fast, but a little more stable, especially during gybes. Or is speed and stability incompatible?

Any advice appreciated.

Hey mate what's your weight and local conditions like? I only ride the skinny 360/45 (mid size skinny) for every foil I've used from 1201-699 and I love it, once you get used to it you won't wanna switch, I feel it makes every foil feel smaller and gives alot of confidence through high speed turns, when I first got it I found it harder to get up, however I don't have any issues anymore. Idk if this helps, I'm 90kg from Perth ??

I agree with OliverP on 360/45

I am 75 kg and have HPS 1050, ART 999 and ART 1001 - all used for different conditions with the following stabs: 400P (sold) - 375P - 350P (sold) - 362/50 - 360/45 - 359/40 (sold)

Best pairing so far: 1050+375P, 999&1001+360/45.

In light wind 375 or 400 work better with 1050 but if I were to choose just one stab for ARTs, it would be 360/45.

350 and 359/40 were a little twitchy. 362/50 is my second best and can be used with bigger ARTs.

Switching to smaller foils does feel twitchy at first. I found 1001 particularly tricky. It's just smaller, nimbler. All has to be done at speed but once you figure it all out, it's hard to go up and lose all the benefits - sharper turns, faster everything, much greater upwind ability... Having said that, 999 was just perfect for me from day one (paired with 375P initially). Such an incredible foil with a huge range. But if the wind allows I always switch to 1001.

I am 80kg, and ride in Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne mostly. So typical rolling choppy waters in about 15kts.
