I am overfrom WA and in Parkdale for next couple of weeks and just wanted to know the best place to park and setup/launch? thanks
Opposite Surf Street or at the Parkdale yacht club are the best places.. This first vid was between the two (opposite Foam Street) on a northerly wind.. Just park in the street (beach road) but check for parking restrictions.. Without a parking permit you might be best to park in Surf St or Foam St and walk across with your gear.. Watch for cyclists on both beach road and the bike/walking track.. I used to live in Parkdale and I might still have a parking permit sticker you can have..
North to northwest winds work well but it's pretty gusty.. South to southeast winds are the best winds for Parkdale .. Southwest is the most common SeaBreeze wind during summer and this also works but it's pretty onshore and rough.. Be careful of the rocks right in front of the Parkdale yacht club..
Thank you , I really appreciate the info and hope to get out later today , it's been ESE so hope that will be good, relative have given me a parking pass but super nice of you to offer.
Ok great.. ESE should be fine.. On that direction it's often much stronger on the water than it looks from the shore..
