I'm like entry-level in wing foiling and still having classes.

My coach recommended several wing brands for me, I'm like... lightheaded. Any master who tried the Armstrong Awing V2?

I like how it feels to foil with my HS1325 kit (the default setup). Super sleek, nice pump, and everything! It's so much better than just surfing. You know, 1 minute of surfing, 2 hours of paddling and waiting. x_x Plus, the Armstrong service is responsive enough. I guess I like this brand but didn't hear much about its wing.

Anyone has tried Armstrong Awing? Is it a good choice for me? Any recommendations or suggestions?

My height: 5.4 feet
My weight: 120lbs
I'm female by the way.

HI,

I have 5 different brand wings in use. Latest addition is Armstrong v2 3.5. I like it a lot. It's stiff and powerful wing and behaves nice. Build quality is also good.

But be aware that they are so powerful that you don't need anything larger than 4.5 unless you plan to to wing in very light conditions or use very small foil.

I'll oder 2.5 next and maybe 4.5 or 5.5 so that I'll have full quiver of Armies.

Cheers

We have a 4.5 v1 and it is way too heavy for my little wife to enjoy. The ozone v2 is much better balanced and better behaved.

I would recomend the lightest wings for your frame.
fone
smik v2
ozone v2

maybe the a wing v2s were lighter but I don't think so.

Even the V2 is a powerful punchy wing. My son loves for all his air work. Me - don't like how heavy and powerful they are. Better brands for flag wave riding shenanigans.

I love my A-wings but would put Duotone's new wings at the top of your wishlist.

I recently acquired a gently used 6.4 m V2 at an affordable price. A guy at my local spot was selling it to buy an OR alula. I picked it up for the lite wind season just around the corner. It's definitely heavier than the 6.4 m slingwing I owned previously, and has a much fatter leading edge. It has lots of grunt, which could be good for beginners. I suggest trying before buying, especially to get the right size. A 5 meter might work in most conditions.

Armstrongs pull like a train. I love my 4.5, but my wife (5'2" 100lbs) hates it due to how heavy it is.

I'm far from a master, I started winging with my wife this Christmas. She's the same build as you, if a little shorter. We started with the Armie V1s in 3.5 and 5.5 and like them. We also had a Naish wingsurfer, which is lighter but lacks the low end grunt of the Armies so means you have to pump to get up on the foil. So we've just got a 4.5m Armie VI in 4.5m too as we find them easier. Perhaps if you have more skill/ finesse than us you dont need that low end pull. She manages the 5.5 no problem.

Thank you all for all these replies, I guess I'll get the Armstrong Awing V2 3.5m since you guys said that it has a strong pull, cuz that's what I like. But I will definitely get a harness set to avoid too much arm sore.

I fly a 2.5 m during winter storms . I like it and use the optional boom since in those conditions I need another grab point for my rear hand to ride depowered. I with the handles were rounder more like the Cabrinha handles, but it does feel very stable in this size. However I wish the balance point were further forward; I find myself unable to grab far enough forward on the front hand and I fatigue; a harness would help, but in 30-40knts it get scary to be in the harness for me.

Im puzzled with this wing , is there a trick to actually make it fly decently ? Must be that I'm on the wrong side of the spectrum with a 5.5m
