anyone speed sailed in the mandurah canals before? i dont know if its allowed but ive just found a great run on a E or SE wind, long run with only a slight curve, houses on the west and low & flat grass beds a mile deep on the east for the whole run. dead flat water in a lot of wind. launching done from the south side of the inlet under the new bridge.
also gotta say a big thanks to the crew in mandurah. top bunch of blokes.

Have tried the 'ken-anals once before down at Mariners cove with Hardie when it was first done and found they were shyte as they are a lot deeper and get horrible wind movement.

Coupla months, the weedies will all be coming out again, the steamers and thermos's will be packed away.

Mmmmmmmmmm warmth which doesn't have to trickle down your leg

I know absolutely nothing about speed sailing, but seeing as though we got 35-38kn a few times last Nov maybe the Mandurah crew could do some runs up here? In chop though but I'd like to see what sort of speeds are posted

Thats a big understatement Mark. Some of the chop there people would call waves We need some wave sailing spots to ourselves

Yeah agreed..... just that if it comes from 3 different directions it balances out and you get a smooth ride once over 30kn ???

As Elmo said Wind bounces off canal walls, really disappointing
