heard some rumblings on the radio, that City of Stirling are thinking of laying some reefs down at SCarbs with1.8 mill of tax payers money.

The main reason for the council to do this was to keep the surfers and swimmers apart.

got to be a good idea .... just make it a long left hander..300m from the shore

Ideally they would put in three of them, giving three different size waves.
i.e. big, medium, small
to cater for all levels and also to reduce crowding on the breaks.

Surely every one would just go to the biggest wave.

I reckon we should get a few WS'ers or surfers with boats and build our own.... get old tyres from the industrial areas at night, bolt 3 or 4 together and dump them. 20 boats do that once a week for a few months and we're in business

While your at it - your could remove all the nasty rocks from Mettams and dump them out there. Just a bit of late night blasting or low tide sldge hammer work. I heard a rumour someone got sent to jail for doing something like that at Rotto once.

Mettams / sledge hammer / a certain rock / very low tide / nightfall.

Hmmm it has crossed my mind [}:)]

I like the idea of three, one for us, one for surfers and one for kites.
