Preparing to dust of a sub 6m sail.

Don't know whether I'll actually use it but I thought I would take it for a drive as a special treat

Yebbut... work's right next to peli point, don't want to try to brave peak hour across the bridge when I can sail across in half the time

And any sail will be a good sail, with the amount I've been out lately

Should get your freckle down to you know where, Corey was just rigging as I went past. looked like the swell was on the up, if the wind swings a bit more it will be wundybar.

Hopefully if I can get my work done early enough today, I will be out there firing my new toy up in anger.

Good luck with your sail, Little steps to start

PM me your new number

Well I got down to peli point at 6.30am as planned. The wind "appeared quite mild" so I went with a floaty board and big fin and a bagged out 6.5... big mistake...

After dogging it out to the channel got blasted by the westerly and decided to sail over to lucky bay. My fin was waaaayyy too big and the board was railing up.... got to lucky bay to see some others rigging up. Cranked the outhaul to make the return trip a bit easier... nope... just as bad... So overpowered and the board was railing.... I was crashing out every 300 metres.... arrgghh..
Also I've been sitting on my arse for the last month, not sailing so am pretty unfit at the moment... Got back to peli point nackered...

Great way to start the morning though. Definately do a storm sail again...

Hey Bucket,

I got to Peli point around 6am, wind was way too west for it (thanks Snides for the heads up) so kept going further round.

Where do you normally park and launch from at Peli? I drove to the scout hall (end of the road) but the launch looked a bit weird, no way you'd get any wind there.

Hey Nebbian
yeah, I think you were a bit too far around. The main lauch there is at the boat ramp where the main car par is.
Your right.. it was in a wind shadow... but after getting out into the channel it was howling.
It is too far for me to drive to melville before work... Even at 6.30am these days the traffic is getting bad.
Had a good time anyway.
Cheers

Hey guys,

I'm new to perth and need some recommendations for where to go on saturday. Is there anywhere that's wavey and not dead on-shore

cheers
