Hi guys, i'm moving over to Perth next week and don't real know anyone over there, well sailors anyway, i'll be mostly sailing in the surf around Perth, up the coast on weekends when i can, i have no idea where to sail, looking for the good spots to get some waves and hopefully meet some cool people to sail with.
I don't know about being cool
. We Pinnas (GPS) are a social mob
and happy to steer you in the right direction. PM and I can give you contact details. A number of us kook about in the waves as well but you might be looking for some more advanced company.![]()
Do you know where you are going to be based?
I'll be living at Bull Creek till xmas then not sure, where ever i can find a good place to live, i'll be working near Scarborough doing the 9 to 5, i don't mind flat water every now and then, as long as there is nice chop to jump off, or going full speed in the smooth stuff can be fun too, but the waves is my Fav.. i don't mind sailing with all levels of sailors, as long as they having fun on the water... and don't snake my waves.. ![]()
I may be moving to WA soon too. My wife is over there now. She arrived on Saturday and likes it a lot. I'm heading over this Saturday for a couple of weeks looking for work and a place to live.
I have one mate over there, he moved from Coffs Harbour to get work so I'll catch up with him.
So WA has daylight savings? I remember the thread about it last summer. Some people complained that it meant they had to wait another hour before the seabreeze arrived and it interferred with the home routine.
"As I said: if you like waves and work at Scabs you will be stoked: in a good year we are talking 3 sails a week after work on 5.3. Schweet"
Are we talking on average over the year or is this just during the summer seasson when the breeze is on??
I've sailed Perth/Scarbororugh (or was it Cottlesloe) once .. on a vacation trip to WA. But we're planning on coming down again .. early fall .. and stay around a bit longer.
Regards

Thanks windy, yer i've herd all the stories for a long time and cant wait for a summer in the west, the day light savings thing will suck if they can it after this year, i'm single and can sail where and when i want, apart from work hours of course. so i intend to get myself a GPS and a lot of beach names, load up my van and go exploring... the only thing that has worried me about Perth is deciding what board and sail sizes to have in my quiver
it's a tough life...
Welcome to WA P.C
Beware of the evil Pinnas. Best avoid them. ![]()
Maybe hook up with the WSP Warriors? ![]()
Bull Creek is close (just down the road from me) to Melville Beach, so handy for flat(ish) water blasting when you're not at Scabs.
If your bringing your MTB over and your up for getting dirty let me know.
Hey Wayne, my Mountain bikes where the first thing i packed, even packed my BMX in case i get inspired by the local skate parks, looks like i'm going to have heaps to do even if it isn't windy, my SUP is coming too..
i like to do a bit of downhill on my duel suspension, nothing to hardcore just fun trails, also street and jumping on my hardtail if i can find some good jumps, not really a fan of riding long uphill runs like cross country..
Should be able to meet those needs here. There's a lot of places to ride once you start to dig around. Unfortunately a lot of the MTB over here is underground as most of the trails are illegal and the legal ones are boring.
I got a job i could not refuse....
Nobody bit so I will.
So PC are you going to be the new Auswind dude?![]()
