You can take my name off the "Ripping" list, and add it to the "Too scared to try a loop" list.

nothing worth riding. Few little peaks popping up here and there for jumps/loops.

Plenty of wind though!

I live just up the road and drive past all the time. Last night there was some swell and just before I turned up the hill I saw someone land a loop.

Stopped for a little look from the car park and there was some definite ripping going on -- it didnt seem like just the regular crew down there... (not suggesting they dont rip)

Use to sail Metts everyday. Learnt to gybe and wavesail there. The last few years been sailing elsewhere. But even my local hasnt had much of a wave this season because of the high tides in the arvo. So decided to try forwards and there seemed liked no better place than the place that I learnt everything else

the reality is ...you've more chance of breaking your back on a nigger head on the inside trying a tack, than loopin injury ....

mental barriers................

need some block removal ..........

next time..........

maybe..............

only if the conditions are perfect..............

and no one is looking........................

The excuse generator was cranked up yesterday Mainly not getting enough height on jumps to feel safe trying one.

I did try one last weekend and did about a quarter of a rotation (landed nose first very fast). It wasn't that scary though.

Hay Greenie, one thing I notice from your video..

Are you moving you back hand further back on the boom? It doesn't appear so.
You need to move it at least 6 inches back when your pulling the trigger to really get the rotation cranking.
It will help in your early loops. In a few weeks (at the rate your learning), you won't need to because you'll know how much back hand leverage to use depending on your desired rotation speed.

IMO

Oh ok cheers for that Dunedin. Much appreciated.
Ive been kinda cheating. When I have been heading out through the break, I have been putting my back hand back ready to pull the trigger. Although its only been about 3 inches.
Question... Instead of sailing out through the break with my back hand in position, when would be the time to move the hand back? Im guessing at the peak of the jump?

Alright then, I'm going to try sailing Mettams. I never really think about it as a sailing spot. Might see you guys there.
