I had my rig and board separate today, chased the board as I figured that was more useful. Was about 1Km north of Mettams and about 300m out from shore. I suspect the rig was going to the bottom but if it turns up I would very grateful. Will try and have a look around tomorrow but couldnt see any sign of it after getting back to shore today.

If those guys on Skis who gave me a hand see this, send me a message and tell me where to drop of the beer ! I didnt really get a chance to thank you properly.

It's almost certainly sunk...

However, there's hope yet. A while back someone ditched a rig at Dutchies. A couple of days later a forum member went for a scuba dive and found it and brought it back to shore.

Might be worth PMing Obelix and asking very nicely / offering costs + beer. Mettams is pretty good for diving too as an added incentive.

Good luck!

I wasn't scuba diving. Just snorkeling for crays. Just lucky to stumble upon it.
I snorkeled Mettams pool, but never the area outside, as it was always murky to to sand shifting (tide).

Hardpole is a GPS mate from Pinnaroos, and would be only happy to search for it, however, I think it would be difficult to see anything. It's rarely clear in that area. Then it sunk at some angle, plus got shifted by tide movement. May be few '00 meters North East from the accident.
