Guys
Fremantle Sailing Club is just starting to introduce sailboard racing to its normal range of activities. Some of our youth sailors have just purchased Bic Techno 293 One Design boards as this is the Yachting Australia sponsored development class for the Olympic sailboards.
We have a regatta coming up - the Ronstan Indian Ocean Classic on October 25/26 and we invite formula raceboards to participate in this event.
On November 15 we also have an event that you may be interested in - The Dash. This is a drag race from TCYC in Rockingham and will finish in Fishing Boat Harbour during the Fremantle Festival.

So this "Dash" is a downwinder from Rockingham to Fremantle, open to any windsurfer?
That sounds awesome!
Count me in!
Guys
Just to clarify a few things.
The Indian Ocean Classic is a multi class regatta originally designed around dinghy racing. FSC is working to build a course racing windsurfer fleet.
The racing will be on a trapezoidal course that will be shared with dinghies and catamarans. I believe Formula boards are best suited to this type of racing. The windsurfer fleet will have its own start. Over two days there will be up to 9 shortish races. Entry fees will apply and prizes will be awarded based on the number of starters.
The Dash is a downwind drag race open to all types of craft (excluding keelboats & trailable yachts).
Entries must be made in advance. Entries on the day will not be allowed. FSC will screen the entries based on age and experience and reserves the right to not to accept a particular entrant. Entries under 16yo will not be accepted & entrants will have to prove their competence. There are very good risk management & safety reasons for this.
Additionally each entrant must have a unique sail number and all entrants must be members of Windsurfing WA or affiliated with Yachting Australia for insurance reasons.
I will post the race documents here when they become available.
Cheers
Mark
Any updates on the dash? It sounds great to me!
You might get a few more readers if you post this under something like "Downwinder in Cockburn Sound" in the windsurfing - general thread.
