I know this already happens informally, and there is an individual spiritual soulful nature to wavesailing, but a team/community based element may be one way of increasing the positive vibe on and off the water, coz I have to admit the biggest turn-off for me about wavesailing atm is the attitude on the water![]()
How could we do this? Those of you that have your groups, is it possible or even desireable to be more inclusive, particularly if you can find like minded souls?
And how about when it's crowded, the concept of a party wave, where we get 2 to 3 of us waveriding the same wave at same time, and that being part of the BUZZ? We call "PARTY WAVE"?
What are your ideas?
Or are people even interested in such a concept?
I would like to get into wavesailing!
I have bought a wave board and played around in a bit of small chop but would really love to meet some wavesailers for a bit of advice and a possible sail with them to get a bit of confidence but as you stated at the top it is difficult to get into a group because of the attitude so i would be up for any ideas!
the problem with party waves is that not everyone sails good enough to do it. and unless I know how well the person sails i'm not gonna share a wave with them.
also small waves aren't worth doing it on.
i think the attitude happens in wavesailing cause everyone wants a wave and it's a rare thing to get a good one so when i get one i don't want anyone else to try and ride it.
where as just flat water stuff or jumping or what ever. you don't have to wait for anything.
Stribo thanks very much, that is a very kind offer and i will be sure to take you up on that!
I have not been upto Lano yet but have wanted to for some time and now i can with a bit of confidence!!
So thanks again
i think maybe what might work at wave spots is a sign clearly showing the conveyer belt system and how to work it.. something like what they have for surfers at margs. but for windsurfers and kiters..
on a massive sign so the kiters can't miss it. heh
