Steve Stratfold is away until September and one of my new toys got dinged on an aircraft. Is there anyone else who can fix it?
It's on the rail of my new Manta 69 - just a hole about 1cm deep and about 5 cm long with bits of carbon and stuff hanging out. It's going to be bloody ugly when it's fixed as it's right in the fancy gold paint.![]()
goto wayne winchester.. he is also really good.. i think the company name is salt walter fever.
He does colour matching too and is in applecross/myaree.

Mate I reckon it depends.
1cm deep x 5cm long is nothing if it is 0.5mm wide (like a knife cut) and is on the rail near the nose where there is no stress. I'd just bog it with epoxy and q-cell or talcum powder or sawdust even, as it is not a structural fault. Worry about the paint later.
However if it is 1cm deep x 5cm long, and is a depressed fracture say 2 - 5cm wide and it is on the rail between the fin box and the mast track, well that is a bit different. That may cause weakness.....Then you need a good repair, but anyone who can vac bag d'cell and glass properly will be able to help. Decrepit or Rider5 will sort you out
Steve is currently In Europe (Greece I Thunk) having a go at a couple of PWA events< don't think he has email anyway, If you can get hold of Slowie he may be able to pass the message on.
i repair boards in Newcastle, been doing it for a few years now, i'm moving to Perth next weekend, not sure if i'll be doing it over there as i prob won't have a shed to work in for a while, if anyone gets desperate for a repair i may be able to help out. can even get them back to almost factory finish depending on the complexity of the graphics..
