Hi all,
Just seeing if there's going to be any other windsurfers with some spare time to get out between 12-24 January. I'm staying at the surfside caravan park in Warnambool and will be keen to get out. I'm from Ballarat so have plenty of flat water experience but have only had a handful of sessions in the waves which is where I would like to progress next. Killarney beach sounds like a good spot to sail as does lady bay and port fairy. Any local info would be much appreciated
Cheers
Jamie
Jamie, there are a few windsurfers in Warrny that regularly sail around Pt Fairy, Killarney etc. There are also a few here in Portland, including a ring-in camping here from SA (sorry Greg
).
If you don't get any replies from the Warrny guys, feel free to join us over here for some bump and jump sessions. If the wind is a good NWer - the Lake at Pt Fairy is fun on a full tide.
Hey Jamie,
I'm from Port Fairy and the windsurfers regularly sail @ the golf course (mills) on a W, WSW... Otherwise if wind is more Southerly they will be further up the bay toward Port Fairy...
On a W - NE go to the loch (lake at port fairy down from Golf Course...) Also known as Port Fairy Airport... Look for the Windsock, setup there....
Cleanest wind on a N - NE, can be gusty on W - NW
They don't really sail killarney much but is good for flat water if you say infront of the reefs...
Hope that helps....
Hopefully they wont mind me telling you! ![]()

thanks for the info sail hack, if I can't track down any locals to head out with I'd be keen for a bump and jump session in Portland. Hopefully the winds blowing.

Shame I hadn't seen this post before I saw you at the beach today.
