Not sure whether it's worth going. could be on the water in 20 minutes but it could be gone in 21
any ideas?http://www.earthsci.unimelb.edu.au/~awatkins/quicklook.html
Looks like it hasn't. < 20 knots all round the bay, I don't think it will get any better with all this rain either.
it has gone already.
Just as an aside, does anyone look at the strength vs the maximum gust?
As a guess, if it's a squall, then the speed of the gust is the speed of the wind whereas if it has just increased, then you'd expect a gust on top of the strength
I was this close (holds thumb and forefinger a bees dicks apart) from throwing on the wetty and heading out. I had such a terrible sailing afternoon yesterday I decided I couldn't go through the slog again. Did some grocery shopping instead.
..and thank goodness. Seems it was a flop.
You all missed out!
I was on a 5.3m Carve 99 and having a ball at Pt Danger.
Bit of a swell and high tide.
Others were there on smaller.
Sailed from 5:30pm - 8pm
Beautiful and unexpected.![]()
