shq and myself are planning on running a relaxed wavesailing clinic one night over the next month, probably down at the cafe in sandringham.
the clinic will be aimed at those who want to get into or push their wavesailing, going over equipment setups, getting out over white water, catching waves and starting to ride them.
i have a lot of photos and video that i have amassed over the past few years to illustrate specific techniques and mistakes that most people will make as they are progressing.
it would be good to get an indication of interest here as there is potential to do a few of these.
looking forward to it.
i would also like some one on one training if anyone knows of anything, will be happy to supply the $$$$$
How about an 'on the beach' clinic tied in with a round of the vic wave titles?
As we did try and do at the start of the year but got stooged with wind!
This sat is looking like a chance for Sandy Pt...![]()
Good idea Joel! I know I could benefit from some words of wisdom and hot tips. Anything that reduces my swimming time is greatly welcomed. Al has a point about Saturday as the weather has been shocking. I do however think you would probably get a fairly good turnout at an event if you did this.
a little side note: Tomorrow is looking fairly fun
not sure about the SP on Saturday but count me in if there is wind.
tom - i had hoped to do that originally but seeing the conditions have been so bad this summer it hasnt happened.
looks like we will probably get another round of the vic series on this weekend, it will be worth coming down on that forecast for sure.
Al- I am all set and understand the situation given the crap winds we have had. Had a nice sail at Leo today when the wind kicked in but spotted a stone rammed into my board before going out, so I now have the epoxy out fixing the bad boy!
See you on Saturday (fingers crossed)
Ok guys
So looks like we don't have enough people to help out or time to run the full wave sailing clinic this weekend. however we will be running a Vic Wave sailing round
The forecast is for a SE and a small swell so we should get a nice day on Sat. We will run a 'B' class with the emphasis on people who have not done much wave sailing before, it will be run as an all in expression session with plenty of advanced sailors on the beach to give any advice, tips and help you out
If you are interested in trying out wave sailing or just want some tips and coaching then make sure you come down!
Keep an eye out on this forum and the website http://www.vicwavesailing.org/ for Saturday's details as they go online later today
See you all there!!![]()
