Hi everyone,
This is baywavebill's missus here. ![]()
I am trying to organise a family weekend away but would prefer not to drag poor baywavebill away from the bay on a weekend when the conditions are going to be epic. The trouble is I have no idea about this sort of stuff. Could someone please tell me how far ahead can you predict a weekend of good windsurfing conditions? Is there a website that can tell me this a few days in advance and what should I look for in terms of knots and wind direction?
thank you
For the Bay you can use this link;

For Sandy Point you can use this link;

Others will come up with more links, but here is few to get you going.
I am sure my missus has it sussed predicting "epic conditions " so give her a yell. Always epic when I have to go to a "compulsory" family outing!!![}:)]
Up the top left of this page under the Seabreeze logo there isthe word "Graphs". hover over that with your cursor. A menu will drop down, move your cursor down to "Victoria". Another little menu will pop out to the side, click on "Metro". On the graph at the top of the page, if there are green arrows above where it says Saturday or Sunday don't make plans ![]()
For example, this weekend would be a bad time:
Thank you everyone you have been very helpful. Squid Lips that graph makes it so easy - perhaps every missus would appreciate having it saved in her favorites - or stuck on the fridge as the weekend approaches ![]()
Poor baywavebill is missing this weekend's epic conditions to visit our son interstate and conditions aren't looking good where he's heading so he didn't even take any gear with him. I wouldn't want him to miss another good weekend of windsurfing whilst he's on holidays.
Mr love, perhaps your family is young; the "compulsory" family outings tend to settle down a bit as the kids get older.
Old Salty, what goes around comes around - I'm a lucky missus
Mr Love.....young?....lol
no unfortunately Bill your wife has checked the conditions, they're epic (TBC), and your still off interstate, or worse, inland!
However he does have a standing offer to borrow my exceptionally light wind gear anytime
I may be interstate but this internet thingy works up here too!!!! Sad to say no wind predicted for Lake MacQuarie and no swell. So Keep up the excellent work themissus cause I will need a fix when I get back. Really appreciate your thoughtfulness. A weekend away at a place called Sandy Point would be very relaxing for the family I think![]()
