I got there late bout 1 pm wind was 15-20 knots NE. Then it died off to 10 knots
for a while then came back up. I sailed till dark it was awesome bit gusty but still fun. The wind turned real good and clean just as the sun went down. so had a great sail in the dark as well.
Leman just as you left the wind came up to 20 knots, dude. next time bro join me in a night time windsurf.
It was good to see more windsurfers than teabags out. That was great to see about 15 windsurfers and 2 tea bags, nice
And the RPS and SHQ windsurf team turned up for a quick jam i heard by Leman. they were doing loops and mass jumps. dam i missed that.
So boys i just checked the 7 day forcast and looks like we will get the same week of no wind
till frid, satday. when its meant to be blowing some more north eastlys again.
So untill then i think our only options for a windsurf maybe inverloch or sandy point.
So if ya dont see me at the pit or inverloch dune the week i will see ya fellas next satdy at rye.

i new you would turn up on this forum croweman. sorry son i think you will be skunked at rye with no wind tomorrow. Hey its meant to be about 20 knots tomorrow tho at inverloch. If i were you i would head up there dude as the bays wind fans will be turned off.

SW groundswell crossing over with a small windswell. Dropping back to 1 to 2ft on the Surf Coast and 2 to the occasional 3ft on the open beaches. N to NE winds 10 to 20 knots.
Monday
Tricky outlook (divergence in models). Residual swell, with the potential for the late arrival of a new SW groundswell. 1ft+ Surf Coast, 2ft+ open beaches. E winds 5 to 15 knots.
Tuesday
SW groundswell. 2 to 3ft+ Surf Coast, 3 to 4ft+ open beaches. Swell inconsistent in the upper range. Light NW winds ahead of afternoon coastal seabreezes, 0 to 10

I was also there for a bit Saturday midday. Also having some issues with the sandbars. I have only sailed Rye a handfull of times though, so am not all that familiar with sandbar location etc. Had a couple of nice but short runs parallel with the beach. Plenty of guys/girls on the water though which was good to see.
I remember seeing your ezzy sail. Glad it wasn't just me smacking into them.
Yeah after my couple of lucky scrapes I went further out into the waves. Rye is usually ok for sandbars in high tide, it was just super low at that time. Funny thing about Rye is it has about 4 rows of sandbars, unfortunately not all in a perfect line. Creates some small but nice ramps but you certainly can't take your eyes off the water in the back breaks, especially if you have a fairly flat board like my freestyle. Good day all up.
I could have gone to Rye on saturday but decided on Green Point, BIG MISTAKE! I was at Green Point from 8.45 am till 4pm and didn't get in the water 
I only have myself to blame, south channel was going of all friday night that should of been enough to get me to head south.
The wind seemed to be stuck in a channel right down the middle of the bay.
It was really good earlier at Rye (before lunch). I was easily going on my 4.5 for a good couple of hours.
I saw a couple of nice forward catapults 
of guys hitting the bar...As you say Leman, tide was like a king low..
My feet and fingers were bloody frozen, had trouble gripping the boom after a while as my fingers had no feeling in them, but I'm not complaining.....any time on the water this part of the year is a gift.
Looks like some northerlies again for the later part of the week, lets hope it builds up some by next w/e

Fri early morning was also good , blasting on 5.8, Sat 4.2 and some nice little lumps over by the pier and less sand bars to contend with. if you sail out towards Rosebud again you have clearer runs and less obstacles . May sound daft but i use latex surgical gloves to keep off wind chill, just need to cut tiny hole on finger tips, just incase you fall in ! cheaper and less bulky than standard windsurf gloves.

So next week end I want to see more windsurfers there.
Lets take over the beach cant let thease kiters have it. I want to see the car park full dudes. Next week I want to see at least 30 guys sailing. Lets have a mass windsurf jam and scare the kiters away.
but i want it full up right up the road lets have a mass windsurf party. Like the good old days when i use to sail a old bombora there you would see about 30+ guys there all skimming over the sand bars every weekend in winter. g the northlys were better back then we would get 3-4 days of northlys to 3 days of no wind each week. i could allmost telll exactly when the wind was going to turn up. now we are lucky to get 1-2 windy northlys a week. dam drought is to blame i think.
Yeah i was really impressed at how many people were there. Makes me wonder how many people windsurf in Victoria? Especially considering most of the people there would have come down from the city and it wasnt exacty hot. I wasnt even alone when i got out at 8:30am.

hehe croweman, bombora are a toilet making company in australia who use to make sailboards years ago. They were great boards on a buget real cheap and fun and you could not break em cause they were made out of that real tuff plastic the same stuff those old one design long boards were made out of. I had a pink one with 3 fins. brought it from a guy in rye for 140 bucks cash. And i went home with a smile on me face that day cause it was me first short board. Dont have it any more chucked it in the bin. plus i dont want to be seen riding a pink board i will attract the wrong type of people.
i had a pink harness, pink board, pink sail, me brother use to stir me big time about it and still does.
Its on boys the rye red bull windsurf jam its on. only one problem seabreeze keep changeing there forcast each 2 days so who know if we will have wind it looks good, but hey who believes seabreeze?? i trust the bom better
