Hadnt seen this one before, is it new?

Nah it's not new..
I use this Marine version www.bom.gov.au/marine/wind.shtml

Andrew who works at the BOM gave me the tip on that one a while ago and it is so good...
I reckon it's the most reliable forecast in Victoria by far and the 1-2day forecast usually gets it right to the knot!!

It helps to show where the wind will hit the strongest.. like this Sunday it really doesn't show the Westerly getting into 13th beach that well, but Sandy Point should cop the most wind... I know where I will be going!

yeah, I'd agree that Marine chart is best most of the time, and for seabreezes too.
The forecast explorer charts seem to overestimate a lot of the time.

Yep that's definitely the most reliable and accurate wind forecast site I've come across - can't beat it! Rumour has it the BOM are thinking of dropping this from their site - hope not!
