Wait til the entire mast track rips out like mine did yesterday, and then turns out to be set into the foam rather than attached to the skin.
Hopefully the Bomborra is not made like that..
Screwing on a stainless plate about 20 cm long with 3 holes (for different mast positions) might all you need. Modern sails like the mast position right back, generally.

there's a pedal you push to slide the mast track along, however the metal has bent upwards from me screwing a modern base bolt/nut into/under the track.

would it be easier if i put a reinforcement layer of metal on top of the original metal track about 3cms wide to cover/reinforce it.
then i can screw the bolt/ nut into the new metal track

I found an old plastic board in the hard rubbish. The mast track had gone so I adapted a Chinook Strongbox to fit in the recess. 16by5mm fasteners, some expoxy sticks and the modern bases are in. So far so good.

The Chinook base with it's two bolts might be the easiest way out.
Is it worthwhile to try to keep a slider sliding? I did, but after using it for a full season freeriding a 380 cm board and ordinary cambered sails I now don't bother with it.

Don't remind me of blind toggles When the track seemed a bit loose I put 6 of them through the PVC skin to help retain it. The PVC skin was very thin and was then damaged as the whole track came out, broken and rusted fasteners and all.
Today completed an heroic repair- horizontal stainless steel plates fore and aft, melted into the middle of the foam to attach the mast track to.

I use the two bolt Chinook bases on every board. The normal single bolt bases often eventually damage the mast track where you always set it so you get a new start, so to speak.
SHQ have them. In your case might need to file the nuts to make them go in sideways for extra strength.

problem solved. got a new longboard (one design i think) which has similar set up to the modern short boards track so i can use my normal mast extension and uni. slightly lighter i would say also.
