Point leo will be the go for me. We had 7 sailors out at Leo today (just hope the wind and swell forecast are right)

"Yeah as long as the Cats win and I am not too hung over, Sunday is looking the goods!"

Is that a soccer game?? Netball maybe??

It's going to be an epic day at the PiT with howling SW winds and speed nutters from all over the country. Any of you Westies planning to head down? If you can do 30knots at Pt Henry Pat you'd easily knock off 35 at the PiT.

Pete,

Some work commitments are putting a large dent on available time but were endeavouring to get at least some day trips to the pit..

I will be in Ocean Grove for a grand Final BBQ saturday and am planning a wave sail sunday morning at raffs. It should be pretty much cross shore on wsw.

Anybody had any experience sailing here?

Really glad it is windy Sat. I really don't give a hoot about the football. No better place than the bay to get away from it.

Where is everyone sailing if they are not watching the grand final?

Hmm maybe Mt. Martha or safety beach if it is more westerly when the change comes in in the afternoon.

Yeah I think I will go for a drive to safety beach in a min, but it doesn't look very inspiring at the mo' All round the bay its showing < 21 knots right this minute.

I actually ended up just going off Mornington about 2:30pm because I was unsure when it would swing SW and pick up and Mornington is good in a westerly. When the change did come through it was bloody awesome. Unfortunately the rope inside my harnessline broke so I had my fight my way back to shore to replace them.

I was a overpowered on my 5.3 but couldn't be bothered changing with less than an hour sailing left. New accomplishment for me, I pulled off an unintentional but incomplete backwards loop, feet came out on the downwards phase and I was left kicking in the air watching the rig fall on top of me. Bloody fun stuff! Sure beat watching the grand final.

Got a nice run at 5pm at Mt. Martha after a family lunch. A consistant 30-35knots gusting up to 40 and some really nice ramps for the bay. Unfortunately was noone there. Did you guys get out and where did you go?

Er, if it's blowing over 25kts, how can you ever call it crap weather? Unless of course the sleet is blowing so hard it makes your corneas bleed.

Yesterday late arvo at Safety Beach was pretty good, quite variable and gusty still but ramping up well. Nice cross-on.

Damn Sunday family lunches- some people just don't get it.

Haha, can't complain, got a full day the day before as well. I bet safety beach would have been nice, hanging to try there again on a good wsw, unfortunately with limited time didn't want to add any more travelling time.

RE: crap weather, I do remember sailing on Sat trying to hide my face from the painful horizontal rain and losing sight of the pier because of the density. You guys ever get hit directly in the eye by fast moving rain, kind of funny and painful at the same time.
