I am looking at getting back into windsurfing after a 25 year break. The reason I stopped was because I was too far from good places to sail, but now I live 25mins from Torquay.

My question is how many days per week is the wind strong enough to sail at Torquay or Ocean Grove? Is there much difference between the seasons?

Thanks in advance.

Hey mate, lots of difference in the seasons.

Winter is a lot more frontal South and Southwest winds and also North West.
Summer can have seabreezes in the arvo.

Some of us had a great time at Ocean Grove today And others were at Pt Danger Torquay.

Head down to Point Danger when the wind is blowing above 20knts SW to East and you will see a few of us down there.
Have a chat with any of the guys to get more info.

Check this for current wind. (Ignore the temp. It's a little bit off at the moment )
