Just a thought, how about an annual census on windsurfing in VIC? Online or something.

Be interesting to learn about age, gender, years windsurfing, gear, future purchase plans etc.... Where you go, how often, board sizes, rider weights, abilities.....

No I'm not from a store, but it would sure be useful for stores and the development of the sport.... just sayin :P

I've been thinking about this recently as well. I think we definitely need to do it and then compare data year on year to see how the sport is trending.

The key will be getting as many people as possible to respond to the survey (maybe we need a prize/s to incentivise people to respond).

I'm also thinking of contacting the Windsurfing Associations in every State to see if we can get 'national' as well as State data.

We should probably also be asking SUP associations to pass on data about who is 'sailing' on their SUPs so we can see if that is a key feeder into windsurfing.

Great idea. stores should also be looking for feedback and seeing what the market is up and how to improve.

It's a battle i have all the time with growing a small market and trying to find new ways of attracting new people and keeping the existing ones happy.

I'd would like to know just how many people look at buying oversea's i know i do.

If the Euro situation descends further, consumption of Chinese goods will drastically reduce, if it hasn't already. US is already consuming a lot less Chinese goods... onflow is to raw material suppliers like AUS with our minerals used by China, where the demand will be less and our dollar will decline accordingly.... and reduce the amount of people wanting gear from overseas..... that's my theory....

...everything comes back to windsurfing :P
