SE is pretty much dead cross shore at mentone. Hope the rain does not stuff up the wind though!

...and plenty of incentive not to stuff up your gybes. Mentone Beach water quality is rated as "Poor: Water quality is not recommended for swimming" for tomorrow.

EPA Vic alert:
With heavy rain forecast across Port Phillip Bay, a stormwater alert has been issued. EPA Victoria advises people not to swim near stormwater drains, rivers, streams and other outlets into the Bay during and for at least 48 hours after rainfall.

I must be naive...How is it acceptable to use the Bay as a wastewater and sewage outlet??? Storm water capture, anyone? First World sewage treatment, anyone?

Sheesh, I must be getting middle-aged!

Try Parkdale up the road (south side of Yacht Club)

kind of weird to have an 'all beach' alert given the forecast is:

Cloudy. Scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms ... 3-8mm rain

Had bumper sail today after work at Mentone, cross onshore, solid wind around 20 knots. Visibly water quality was ok (didn't take a sample tho). Tomorrow may be a different story after all the rain from north of Melbourne this arvo washing down the Yarra.

a few of us thinking about a trip to PI, Woolamai (small swell today) and a SE cross shore wind.

Well so much for a SE. We had nearly direct onshore winds at Bonno. A great freeware sail day for about 4hrs out the back in the swells.

Easterly came late but pretty constant in Western Port. Good sail with the 5.8 from around 6pm.
