Where is every one windsurfing this weekend?

The wind forecast looks kind good, hopefully the rain will not be as heavy as yesterday afternoon.
IWC has the Allison Shreeve Weekend at Inverloch this weekend. I will be there Sunday helping out. I'll miss Saturday, as I have wedding to go to. If the wind is up in the morning I'll try and get a sail at Bonno before the wedding.

Refer to the extract from BOM forecast below for Port Philip Bay.

Local Waters Forecast for Port Phillip
Issued at 5:18am EDT on Friday 26 November 2010

Forecast for Saturday
Winds: Northerly 10 to 15 knots increasing to 10 to 20 knots during the morning. Winds tending south to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots during the afternoon. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon then increasing to 2 metres later in the evening. The chance of thunderstorms from the late morning until late afternoon.

Forecast for Sunday
Winds: South to southwesterly 20 to 25 knots. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres.

Please note; this is not a WV event and this post is to be used as information only. The intent of this post is for windsurfers to post where they could be going to windsurf this weekend and for other windsurfers to possible come and join them.

Inverloch is the only place to be this weekend. Australia's world champion female windsurfer as a coach, plenty of assistance from The Pit Crew and others including Mr. Pres of WV himself.
Choice is easy

Plan on getting out locally (Portland). Would be great to get to the 'big city' to see Alison do her thing, but too much on, and too far away (as always). Pls post some pics?

Swell is big now.... but Northerly...... SW wind change will make Pt Leo.. Crunchie or Suicide saturday afternoon a real option. Allison Shreeve.. a bit of a magnet though.

I wasn't too hopeful for today, since the seabreeze graph looks extremely messy. I think the 20+ will be in the squalls and it is anyones guess what direction it will be.

Probably be another of those annoying windy nights. If only they had MCG lights on the water.

Ended up getting a little sail off Mornington at 5. Really hoping Sunday delivers. The Seabreeze graph looks good but BoM is only saying 15-20. Fingers crossed.

The waves at Honeysuckle yesterday were awesome. I was out on a sup. They were the biggest waves I've supped on so far. It'd be awesome on a windsurfer with a decent SW. Hard to access but great in the right conditions.....

There's someone out early today off shoreham/pines. you can just see them in the distance from the 2nd reef webcam

Yeah I talked to the shoreham guy as he was packing up, while I was scoping places to sail. He got out nice and early.

Once I took out food breaks I did a 7 hour sail today at Pt. Leo. Muscles are cramping, elbow and fingers are stiff but it was worth it. Two guys joined me during the morning and a bunch joined in in the afternoon once the tide came in. It was a fraction too onshore for good waveriding, but as a beginner waverider it was fine for me.

I'm glad BoM got it wrong and the wind stayed up. Who else got a way overdue sail in?

Hi, Guys,

The forecast at 5-ish this morning was for 15-20 kts. Went to Elwood early, started with 5.8/92 L FSW and ended up mostly using a 5.0/82 L waveboard along with most others who were there. Came home and found the forecast had been altered at about 9.30-ish to 20-30 kts and the St. Kilda graph supports the revised forecast.

Yes, the wind was cold and the sky grey, but the water temperature made up for it.

The day goes into my diary as "Excellent".

Lee, saw you out at Leo. Myself and a few other guys were at Shoram just down the road. Once tide started coming in, it was pretty good for wave riding, had some chest high sets push through. You should of come down after 1pm, as you said it would of been a bit too onshore at leo for wave riding.

Atleast it was sunny and warmish down there. Good to get out again finally

Suprising not to see more guys out as Shoreham provided fairly reasonable conditions - prefect for beginner wave sailors.
