Where is every one windsurfing this weekend?

Maybe a sea breeze Saturday and maybe a South East wind Sunday afternoon if we are lucky. Saturaday could be ok for medium wind slalom sail down at Sandy Point if WindGuru is correct.

Refer to the extract from BOM forecast below for Port Philip Bay.
Local Waters Forecast for Port Phillip

Issued at 10:20am EDT on Friday 22 October 2010

Forecast for Saturday
Winds: West to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots then tending south to southwesterly during the afternoon at around 15 knots and then tending southerly 10 to 15 knots later in the evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres. The chance of thunderstorms early in the morning.

Forecast for Sunday
Winds: South to southeasterly 5 to 10 knots becoming light during the morning then tending south to southeasterly up to 15 knots during the afternoon with the sea breeze. Seas: Below half a metre increasing to half to 1 metre during the afternoon.

Please note; this is not a WV event and this post is to be used as information only. The intent of this post is for windsurfers to post where they could be going to windsurf this weekend and for other windsurfers to possible come and join them.

I'm down at Melbourne this weekend for a wedding and staying at St Kilda. Firstly have to say it's a great place. Secondly we walked along the pier. A fresh wind was blowing. Clearly sailable with something like a six or seven meter sail. But..... No one sailing on the bay. Bummer.

Some kite school down the beach but no kiters out either

You needed to get down to Green Point (approx 8 kms south) There were about 6 guys sailing there, although it was a bit on the light side.

Although I covered very little in the way of distance while windsurfing today, much of which included the "walks of shame" I enjoyed the sail at Bonbeach today with the Bonno crew. Really makes you realise how sailing on flat water all of the time can be a bit deceiving as to how you think your skill level is progressing - was good to get out in the rough stuff for a reality check!

Bay was quite ok. 18 to 20kts. Tried Dendy for the first time. That's my new home beach now. Loved the bay wave there and no kiters. Bye to Hampton Beach (and all the kiters down there)

I try and stay away from the city beaches now.. There so polluted with all the rain we have had this winter, and there is to many kiters, kiting all the beaches. I think most of the windsurfers tend to sail out from the city now Dendy is a fun place to windsurf in a SW and in a Westly the waves are huge, feels more like a wavesailing spot than a bump and jump spot some times..

(FLAME SUIT ON) Actually, the kiters on the Inlet were pretty good to sail with yesterday (saturday). There were a few locals in amongst them who we sail with all the time, and most of the teabaggers tended to run accross the flat patch rather than on the strip.
The guys on the strip actually gave way and stayed downwind of us on the run, so I'm prepared to give credit where credit's due....

My first seabreeze sail for the spring, stoked! Sailed at williamstown beach by my lonesome, was S-SE around 15-17kts.
Some guys from the middle east + family smoking the biggest bong/hooka I have ever seen in the picnic area, it was around 3 ft tall. It sure didn't sell like tobacco.
