Where is every one windsurfing this weekend?
Myself:
Saturday – At the SHQ garage sale in the morning and their relaunch party at night. I've I'm lucky a sail in the afternoon, but may have give up Saturday for a Sunday sail.
Sunday – Maybe a sail at Mount Martha.
Refer to the extract from BOM forecast below for Port Philip Bay.

Please note; these are not Windsurfing Victoria Inc organised events, and this post is to be used as information only. The intent of this post is for windsurfers to post where they could be going to windsurf this weekend and for other windsurfers to possible come and join them.
Saturday - move Jez! Then Rugby Wales V France (Go Wales!), then definitely up for a Sunday sail. Thinking maybe Elwood... not sure what the water quality is like, but spose its bad anywhere up this close to the city....
I want to avoid areas where I am going to get worked into reefs or rocks in big chop.... So possibly Elwood as a preference (there is only a few)... And maybe Kinane St.... (parking sh1ts me.... fkn time zones pathetic... maybe if I wear more lycra the council might be more favourable - not hating, just sayin)....
Rounded off with the Aus Vs Nz game Sunday night at Mt Erica - Go Wallabies!!!!
Mt Martha, Safety Beach or Inverloch Sunday..... unsure at the moment. Depends on direction come Sunday.
Maybe Ricketts saturday arvo for the westerly before the SHQ party, sunday safety beach is good on a westerly and still good if it swings sw.
I hope the forecasts hold up.
Last night at SHQ and SBHQ relaunch party was once again a great success.
Today we have plenty to choose from; SHQ garage sale, VWS comp at Torquay, KA speed fortnight at SP finishes up, and some local sailors heading to Safety beach.
Is it because you didn't have a wetsuit? or was it the pain of not looping, or could it have been your piss poor efforts trying to speed sail?
Nice - A more flattering angle given the water temperature, hail, 30 knots wind and general lack of genetic blessing anyway.
Thank you for the tits. They are still on the van.
Also thank you for your insight on Saturday morning...
"You're dehydrated. How can you be dehydrated? How old are you? 33.. Exactly you're not old enough to be dehydrated.."
Thank you H2O for organising an awesome weekend.
Thank you weather god person for providing us with strong winds all weekend (though an easterly would have been nice on saturday and maybe a SW on Sunday with a low tide at around 4pm... but who's complaining)
Thank you to the locals in the Austral on the way for tolerating my Kareoke and for joining in with the groping.
Great weekends sailing on Ginger Poms Bucks weekend! I did so many crashes yesterday and today, I am sure I am going to be in a world of pain tomorrow.
The worst was easily trying to do speed sailing down the inlet on my wave kit. The speed boys really have rock hard balls and make it look easy, which it clearly isn't as GP showed! I was doing 30knots when I crashed and it hurt like hell. Seemed bloody fast to me though until the speed boys went passed![]()
Picture is from Waratah before it went onshore!
It would be interesting to do a census on a weekend like this. There were around 11 at Ricketts this arvo (and others had left before I got on the water). Ricketts was pretty nice on 4.5 for a 90kg bloke, though a fraction more north would have been good.
About 4 or 5 out at Kinane Street.
The guys in the morning and mid-evening got the best of it. Noon seemed to drop a bit.... but then short fronts every now and then 20 knots....
124 Ltr board bashed around a bit..... not chop friendly in the westerley ![]()
Sunday-About 6 at Inverloch....lumpy as!
Wind went from 5-30 knots, but hey, getting wet was the priority!
Census - Sunday the Island, Surfies Point, 15-30knts, good size swell. 1 windsurfer, 3000plus bikes, a few aircraft passing overhead and one pissed off wet dog.
