I will go to Green Point, there is a theory that the northerly will struggle to get to rye when its warm and sunny... Leman

K Dog thanks for the quick post. Someone is itching for a sail. I know I am.

Myself
Saturday: Morning I have some family duties and then from lunchtime at Bonno.
Sunday: WV & MSC is hosting the 3rd round of the WV & MSC winter course racing clinic and social racing series at Mordi Sailing Club. This Sunday SHQ have provided WV with a couple of NP RS:One kits. I will be there helping out and racing. If you get some time on father's day, you should all come down to Mordi sailing club. Bring your kit to.

oh its so on this weekend !!

Its sunny, its spring, bay temp has passed its coldest and is back on the up
and its WINDY!!

off to Green Point and maybe longboarding event.
(From the train I saw a guy out last night at 6.15pm at G.P. well keen !)

I went to Rye last week for the first time. I want to go again, this time with gear, and hopefully with wind. It looks like the best place to restart. And if it's sunny, the family will join me and have a great day at the beach.

Rye would be good but G.P too handy. Heading off within the hour, whilst the family goes father's day shopping.

Rye was awesome yesterday morning / early afternoon - my first proper trip there and my first sail of the season! Hit a sandbank at full speed - must have been rather amusing for any onlookers - still a good session, feeling a little sore today - but all good!

Had great sail today at Mordi Sailing club. Thanks to SHQ for supplying an additional 2 RS:One kits for the WV & MSC coursing racing clinic and social racing.

How was the loch?

I went out at Pt Richards near Portarlington in the late arvo.
This gauge said it was 20 knots,
http://www.regionalchannels.vic.gov.au/index.php/quick-links/tide-guages

But.. I found it a struggle to plane on a 95L wave board and a 5.3.

This coming Tue & the weekend are looking sweet.

Good fun at Woolamai this morning. Small swell but the low tide made for some nice rides. I'm stuffed.
Bring on Tuesday

The wind was up and down all day.

Rigged a 7.5 and waited for wind to kick in.
Wind came in big time, rigged 5.3
Half an hour later, it started to die, it got down to a consistent 15 knots so I decided to rig up the light stuff again.
Same thing happened, packed the big stuff away and got out the 6.2.

Got a few good hours in, it was worth it.

^^^ Hey Jason, I went over to the loch last weekend with big gear (wife had a day with girls & I had nothing else to do) - 5kts too light and the floating grass wrecked my chances of planing - must invest in a weedy.

On a brighter note - Portland harbour was brilliant this Saturday with the northerly and again yesterday with the NWer off Dutton way - although a bit offshore...but flat & a few nice gusts!

Feckin fishing net nearly spoiled my day (and a yacht's that was powering toward them). Planing along nicely & decided to go between floats (normally lines down a bit), hit a floating line - my board & rig went from about 20kts to 0kts in less than a second, whilst it took a bit longer for me to stop as I was doing the superman! The yacht skipper must've seen me get catapulted & turned just in time.

G'day Scotty,
I nearly went out last week but ended up supping. Lot of fun and I reckon it's helped my windsurfing. I'll keep an eye on this area when the weekends are looking windy. If it's light northerlies I'm probably going supping.

No good about the nets, hope you didn't break any gear.

Lake George at beach Port is looking great, I'm probably going to head over during the school holidays, if you or any of the Portland crew are keen we could load up a trailer. Check out the SA thread for photos.

Well that theory held true. By the time I got there after work at midday, it was pretty dead. This weekend, with so much south in it, heading your way might be in order.

If its mainly south on Sat, Shoram will be good on the incoming tide!
