Well the website link was sent out yesterday so lets drum up some intrest!
So who is going to come along?
let's all start praying for some swell and wind!http://www.vicwavesailing.org/
Well done Duncs and everyone involved getting it off the ground![]()
Agree, the idea and website is great. Where is the likely venue? or does that decided the day before - type thing?
yeah will just be according to the conditions but there is a list of possible spots on the site.
Only a few weeks away for the first one!
This weekend is the first round (12th / 13th) -> if you have signed up, you should get a few emails stating if/when its on and where it will located.
If you haven't signed up ... boo to you. [}:)]![]()
I personally dont have final say, thats up to the designated "windgurus"...
With all the N / NW's we've been having, Sandy Point has been discussed a few times already -> safe sandy beach, no rocks, realtively easy rigging, cross / cross-off... The only real disadvantage of Sandy Point is the 2.5hr drive from the city.
Alternatively, if its too N, there has been some discussions regarding Philip Island..
Should be good! The drive to Sandy Point isn't too bad! Looks like good NW and swell on Sunday! I assume you can sign up on the day - I haven't got around to posting entry form in...
keep the info up,,,
i'm keen for anything better than the bay...
happy to even score some onshore slop...if it's port tack![]()
Ok guys so were on!!
lets all pray for wind:
Wave Sailors,
It has been decided to hold the first round of the Victorian Windsurfing Series tomorrow (Saturday) at Sandy Point. The forecast looks promising with north west winds and a medium sized swell. The briefing will be held opposite the general store at 11am. Hope to see you there!
see you all there ![]()
Well... we were becalmed...! The only sail that got rigged, was for some SUP sailing.
That said, about 20 guys & girls turned up, most of them very good sailors... so there was definitely plenty of talent missing the big winds on the Bay.
Nearly all had a great time surfing and supping smallish but near perfect waves finishing up in warm sunshine. Would be churlish to talk down such a great day.
