Soon I will be moving over to melbourne for university. I currently windsurf in my home state (tassie) and would love to keep windsurfing in melbourne. The only problem is gear storage and then actually being able to get that board to a beach as I won't have a car. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight as to how I might get around this (if at all) because it would be a shame to only windsurf when I'm back in tassie.

Parkdale yacht club has a fleet of windsurfers as well (though One Design sailors, not slalom). I thik annual fees are around the $400 mark.

There's a group of sailers who rig up at Parkdale beach next to the yacht club pretty much any day its blowing. You're problem without a car will be getting to and from the beach. Parkdale train station is a short walk away though . . . . .

I figure for this to work I will have to take the train or a bus and then walk, small price to pay though. Thanks for the replies.
