Those folks with the day off, what are you going to rely on, the NW or SW change?
I usually pick a different location based on the wind direction. I also don't wish to get stuck out when the change comes (which may result in 30+mins of dead wind), that seems to happen to me a lot, which is extremely embarrassing and there is nothing worse the waiting for the SW change and it ends up coming at sunset.
Personally thinking of going for a morning sail in the NW then head home for lunch and if the SW comes in strong and early may throw on the wet wetsuit and sail until my arms drop off.
Think I will do the arvo! Have already had two great sails this week and think I might just get one more.
Green Point is the better spot in the north of the bay in a northerly to NW. Dendy or Ricketts for wicked waves when the SW change comes through.
Well the morning was terrible for me at Mornington. It was reading 20+ at Pt Wilson, Fawkner and South Channel, while it was sitting at around 15-17 at Mornington. Very frustrating. On the other hand, at 4pm at Mt. Martha the SW wind was fantastic! Even over powered on my 4.7 at the beginning, guessing gusting up to 40knots. Excellent afternoon.
Hope you guys got a good sail.
Just got back from a nice sail at Point Leo - I really should try Mount Martha one day as it is much quicker to get to from my house. Just like sailing out on starboard tack!
Flacka,
You need to be back on the 8th as it currently looks windy for that day. I am stopping work from the 14th in preparation for your return! Bring it on.... I even have the $20 ready for you once I see you loop![]()
