Did you also notice that you shouldn't have looked at Thursday, as that is telling you to take the day off...

I'm thinking of making the trip down to SP tomorrow (sat) as it is looking good. Low tide late arvo, strong SSW winds. What do you more experienced types think? I will have a spare seat if anyone wants a ride.

How was SP? I know Matt made it back in one piece because I drove past his van this morning... I was worried though, having seen the wind readings from Wilson's Prom.

Saturday on the bay was just stupid - wind speed as low as 20 knots gusts to 48 knots at St. K, rain squalls, hail, everything... not pretty. A couple of gusts came through at about 4pm that didn;t even register on seabreeze or the bay winds page - I would not have been surprised if they were pushing 60 knots. I was inside at the time, wondering if the aircon unit was going to get ripped off the roof.

Sunday afternoon made up for it - great at Deni(?) St, just north of Green Point. Sunny, 5.0 weather, big swell, lovely day.

SP report anyone?

the report was "crap" - aka, not the best for speed sailing as the direction was *very* south -> so south, that sailing from the launch point, would require you to point upwind until you got the the red bouy, without having sailed along the sand-spit (ie: sail all the way through the middle of the channel).

That said, we all pretty much focused on 1hr's, NM's and alphas, with quite a few PB's in those categories.

Oh, and the water was very flat for the whole run (when you could stay on the bank) - probably the flattest I've seen it for a long while.

Note to the kiters... dont pull out in front of anyone doing 35+ just so you can do your 300m run, and dont try to sail back upwind of someone who is already speedsailing against the bank... [}:)] ... I really wasn't trying to aim for you...

It was a great day for playing on the bank doing one hr and cranking lay down jibes. My kids had a ball jumping off the dunes and playing in the sand.My only disapointment was that i couldn,t get the harness to work.Better than any day at work and we passed the Mandurah Mob on the overall GTC (just)
