I'm thinking of taking my girlfriend to Swan Bay on Sunday for her first lesson - predicted SE around 10 knots in the morning, and then sail a little myself later when the wind picks up to 13 knots. Not record-breaking stuff, but should be nice slalom conditions, do some gybe practice, etc

Am I right in thinking Swan Bay is probably my best bet Sunday? In the greater Melbourne area that is...

Where do you rig up and launch - at Swan Bay holiday Park?

A light SE would probably also work in Mentone.

Swan Bay is a bit protected from the south so you really need a good forecast for it to fill in. Went their today with a solid 20 knots all around the bay and was struggling to get to 10 knots. You could try lake connewarre or point henry which tend to be better options for a southerly. Or bite the bullet and travel to inverloch.
