I got stuck at home all day so I thought I would depress myself further and find out what a good time other people had.

Where did you go and how was it

Sailed Ricketts for the first time & demo'd the Kode86. Wind was up and down all afternoon but still enjoyed it. First time on such a small board (my smallest is 110) but quite surprised I could actually ride it. Great day.

Didnt sail but went to Pt Impossible to see if anyone else was out. By the time I got there, there were only two guys out .. and one was a kiter.

Commandant had decided that I wasn't windsurfing this weekend REGARDLESS of the weather and was taking her away for a couple of days. Ended up eating way too much in Port Fairy. Incidentally, has anybody ever windsurfed down there? Saw some crazy surfers riding huge waves...!

I went out off Barwon Heads from about 10:30 to 12:30. Wish I had seen others at 13th beach but alas didn't. Swell was good after a windy night, with big rollers breaking on deeper reefs a long way out. Wind was down and up. As a novice wave sailor on my own in an offshore breeze, I didn't really push things in case anything broke. I would like to have though... And unfortunately I couldn't sail for long with the family sitting on the beach waiting for me. There were some pretty big holes in the wind on the inside, and the wind was a bit too offshore where I was. It didn't help that I put too much downhaul on either. Annoying but it whetted the appetite. At least I had my first bottom turn experience and practiced getting out through breakers. They were surprisingly forgiving compared with some of the snarling mess of onshore port phillip bay.

In my daydreaming before and after, I felt would be good to have some kind of gps tracking system for wave sailing so I could find others more easily... Next time Steve, I think I'll be asking for your mobile no. Thanks for the tips by the way.

I checked out Possos (point impossible) and 13th beach the previous day - I'm keen to see in future where people launch from and which reefs are a go on what tides. Looks like potential for hours of fun when the stars are in alignment.

By the way - is everyone aware of the Windsurfing Victoria meeting this Wednesday for a wavesailing assocation/group? Sandringham Pub 7 pm. I'll post it as a separate item just in case.

Yep! live 35mins drive to the west...bigger waves here.

As for Sunday...made my way back from the biggest concert in Aus history! Missed a sail, but it was worth it!

I sailed at bonbeach with 1/2 dozen other guys probably should have gone to Ricketts, the shore break was a bit nasty to get through unless you had power, got smacked a couple of times. Ok once you got out the back ,4.4 sail on 83L board so really can't complain.
