You wont see this very often (or at least once the bay is warmer than the ocean); wind heding out from the bay in all directions -- and is this our first seabreeze, albeit weak?

I generally use the Seabreeze forecast in conjunction with the BOM site.

What's the go at Ricketts Jman..... I noticed some bouys last time I was there. Do you sail between those on the way out and in? and can you sail closer in where the flat water is or do you have to go out past the bouys?

Cheers.

South end sail from the life saving club for a westerly, if the wind is Sw you can sail from the beach north of the car park but i think it depends on the tide and you have to sail between the markers, not much room for error so I dont sail their on a sw.

Went off when the W came through Sth Ricketts. Lots nice big waves too and the best sail i've had for a while. (Which is not saying a lot!)

As for todays map, well somethings wrong at the BoM end with their data; you'll see the graphs pointing the wrong way here on seabreeze too.

Hi all,
Been checking out Sth Channel for the last few days and the wind direction is 180 degrees different from everywhere else every day! Looking down this post, I would suggest the SC has a busted vane.

I like your wind maps laurie, they are a pleasure to look at - pretty
The south channel beacon has been out by about 180 degrees for a few days now, I think a busted vein might be the call.
At the moment there appears to be a gusty beast of a Northerly out there,I am hoping it will swing a bit more west as I am just about to drag the wave gear out at Keast Park

Hey GS,
How was Keast? Sailed at Bonbeach am, serious wind but a bit of east at 1st, eventualy went round to the NW much better direction. That was probably you we could see sailing by yourself South from us.

When I got out it was that bit too off shore and big -maybe 35 gusts followed by not much.
When that westerly change came through it got pretty crazy for a while and I sailed up close to the Pato river at one stage, but when I turned around it had swung more Nor-west again and I had a wild broad reach through building waves back to Keast.
Not bad fun for a Monday
